One set of Letters of Invitation granted!!

Dear Partners,
Just a quick note to let you know that we received approval to return
here from Jan 1 to June 30, 2009 today!! Praise the Lord for
answered prayer! Of course, we can still only be in the country for
90 out of 180 days. We will take the Letters of Invitation to the
Russian Embassy in
visas.
When Claudia went to pick up the documents this morning, she saw that
the woman in line in front of her had her requests denied. She
almost had heart failure until the woman behind the window opened our
folder and she saw the yellow/gold paper that the invitations are
written on! Then she knew we were ok. We had requested one year
LOI's but we are happy to have 6 months. This means
that we can
return here for the months of January, February and March as
planned. Yeah!! We will then have to go through this process again
beginning in early February to get new LOI's for the
second half of
the year.
Thanks so much for praying for this process. We feel blessed to have
these awesome "Gold" papers in our hands.
We are leaving in the morning (Friday here) for
Steve will be working with Pastor Sveta over the
weekend. She has a
very long list of things she wants to discuss. They
will not likely
get through it all but please keep them in your prayers during this
weekend. Steve will be preaching Sunday as well. I will be teaching
some of the women how to bake some American cakes, etc. I have
promised for a long time and now think I have enough language to pull
it off. It will be a great adventure no matter what. There will
also be lots of time to share personal stories. I am really
beginning to get to know a couple of them very well and it is a
special gift for us all.
Please continue to pray for success in obtaining Letters of
Invitation to
leave here. We need to mail our visas, etc. to
processing these visas when we get home.
We fly out of here next Wednesday afternoon (Tuesday evening
Oct. 2.
